Really, few words are necessary to describe this State Fair/Carnivale/Mardi Gras Festival where Lederhosen and Dirndls are almost compulsory, and the beer flows faster than water. The rain, thankfully, stopped long enough for all of us to enjoy several hours of this spectacle of lights and sounds, food, and beer. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed Oktoberfest!
Every stereotype you might have about Oktoberfest played out before us in Munich this weekend. The beer “tents” ranged from small to large to fire-hazard size.
And on the inside, each one looked pretty much like this.
Oktoberfest-ers!
It’s impossible to go hungry at Oktoberfest. Grilled fish on a stick? Lebkuchen? Anything in between?
We opted for slightly more traditional Oktoberfest food.
Prost! Oktoberfest!

You make me almost want to go there! Almost. 😉
I admire your Lederhosen-Dirndl outfits. I remember wearing a red Lederhose when I was a little girl. No idea where that came from, grandmother's friends, I suppose.

We all had fun, but we all agreed that, really, once was enough.
