At a stop to fill the wagon with petrol for the drive home, we could not help but laugh. It would appear that the current U.S. administration’s import tariffs are working. Two cans of (Austrian) Red Bull cost a whopping $500. ūü§£

A morning spent driving along America’s most visited Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway today. Pantone vistas; rocky overlooks; leaping deer (thankfully not in front of the wagon); and even a few turkey buzzards.

Bobblett’s Gap Overlook. The Bobblett Family Cemetery stands as a memory to the homesteaders who once occupied these hills.

On the descent and back towards urbanity, a colony of Turkey Buzzards crossed the road; this one landed on a branch long enough for me to snap.  Only a face a Momma Buzzard could love.

For our lunch pause on the way home, a dip into wine country to…Trump Winery. Yes, the President’s (former) winery, now entirely in the hands of son Eric Trump. Tony and I enjoyed a tasting of the four main varietals, and decided upon a couple of bottles of the Voignier, Virginia’s “State Grape” to bring home. Lunch was a beyond-spectacular charcuterie on the shaded and DOG-FRIENDLY terrace overlooking the vines.

And then, home. A spectabular delivery dinner from Fava Pot, an Egyptian restaurant near the ‘hood of the classics we loved, loved from Cairo. Koshari, Hummus, and Kofta. Oh, my!
