One final family wander for the summer. On this sultry Sunday morning it was Pohick Bay Regional Park along the Potomac River. (Pohick is Algonquian for, “The place by the water.”)

The trail itself was a little ho-hum in terms of adventure, but it was nicely shaded and there was plenty of nature to focus on. Beautiful moss carpets and shelf fungus; tiny brown frogs? toads? and of course the all-important water entrances for the Foxhound. And my first photo attempt at a spiderweb sparkling in the sun. Afterwards, a cooling dip in the pool and some burgers on the grill. #Summer
